To put some UKE in the world

What’s here?

I grew up listening to Don Ho on family records and only faintly remember
the sound of my grandfather playing the ukulele.
From what I remember, those were some of the happiest times our family ever did see.

I have since acquired the ukulele he played, dusted some 20 years of dust off,  and am now on a musical adventure to put it back to use.

It will never be strummed and plucked the way he did, but I’m willing to try to get there.  Join me on my ukulele journey. 🙂

I remember your grandfathers strumming, like it was yesterday. On your journey, you will find many, that sound similar to his style, they are among the great players of his time. There are just a few left from his time, but their children continue today. Good Luck and much Success in your quest to find your own style.

Thank you. It’s only been 11 days and think I’ve learned a couple new things. Only more to learn!

Great idea for a blog! Have a ball recording a new song every day and enjoy your musical journey!

Hey, thanks! It’s only been 11 days – this is turning out to be a great project. Any suggestions for future songs? 🙂

No suggestions really. I like your song choices as I haven’t heard of all of them so they’re new to me. I think at some point towards the end of the month, a Christmas song has to make an appearance though.

There will be a Christmas song or two that grace the blog soon. 🙂 You can count on it!
